Paid, full-time summer program trains top PhD candidates, postdocs, and MDs to turn bold science into the next generation of precision medicine companies
Three one-month explorations culminate in Fellow presentations at the Amplitude Venture Creation Symposium
MONTRÉAL, Canada, October 26, 2026 — Amplitude Ventures today opened applications for the 2027 Amplitude Fellowship, its paid, full-time summer program for top life sciences PhD candidates, postdocs, and MDs. Run by Pre-Amp, Amplitude’s venture creation studio, the Fellowship trains early-career scientists to identify, shape, and test ideas for new biotech companies. Applications are open now until January 17, 2027.
The Fellowship welcomes candidates with deep life sciences expertise as well as those in scientific, computational, or technical fields, such as chemistry, engineering, AI/ML, computer science, and materials science.
Each summer, up to 10 selected Fellows step outside their comfort zone for three one-month explorations, including mapping an unfamiliar area of biology to shape early venture hypotheses and pressure-testing their ideas to build the strongest hypothesis for high-potential, breakthrough companies. Powered by their own curiosity and conviction to navigate complex, abstract environments, Fellows explore the intense pace of scientific entrepreneurship. The program ends with the Amplitude Venture Creation Symposium, where Fellows present their work to more than 100 founders, operators, and investors.

Since 2021, more than 40 Fellows have completed the Amplitude Fellowship and gone on to roles across the North American life sciences industry, including at Amplitude portfolio companies. Pre-Amp has also refined and launched past Fellowship explorations into companies such as Stereo Biotherapeutics and RIME Therapeutics.
The Amplitude Fellowship welcomes eligible applicants from Canada and abroad.
